The world’s most influential travel event, WTM London, is gearing up for its largest-ever Ministers’ Summit on Tuesday, 4 November, bringing together key decision makers from across the globe to shape the future of tourism investment.
Now in its 19th year, the WTM Ministers’ Summit continues to be the world’s leading annual meeting of tourism ministers and global policymakers. Co-hosted in association with UN Tourism and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), this year’s edition will be moderated by BBC News’ Chief Presenter, Christian Fraser, and held at the new Maritime Suite, George V Room 1, within ExCeL London’s latest expansion.
The summit’s 2025 theme, ‘Reimagining Tourism Investment Models: Building Next-Generation Incentives’, will explore innovative approaches to investment in tourism, with a focus on integrating emerging technologies, aligning with national transformation agendas, and diversifying funding models to ensure long-term resilience.
This builds on last year’s discussion around artificial intelligence, expanding the conversation to how destinations can use technology to unlock new markets and foster sustainable, inclusive growth.
Last year’s edition saw participation from over 50 tourism ministers — a 12% increase over 2023 — marking a record high and underscoring WTM London’s growing role in global policy dialogue. The 2025 event is already tracking to be the largest in WTM’s 45-year history, reflecting the industry’s renewed confidence and collective push towards transformation.
Beyond the Ministers’ Summit, WTM London’s conference programme on 4 November will also feature the Sustainability and Geo-economics summits and the launch of the latest WTM Global Travel Report. The following day will host the Technology and DEAI summits, with the event concluding with the Marketing Summit, ITT Future You Forum, and a closing keynote featuring a soon-to-be-announced special guest.
Chris Carter-Chapman, Event Director, WTM London, said, “As the world’s most influential travel show, we’re delighted to be hosting the Ministers’ Summit once more. WTM London has an undoubted impact at policy level, leading the way in shaping discussions around the challenges and opportunities facing global tourism — from conflict and climate change to rapid technological advances. This platform remains vital for sharing best practices and exploring how tourism can be harnessed as a true force for good.”
