Our interactions with agents indicated a strong and enthusiastic dedication to promoting Oman as a top destination for their clients. India has always been a significant ally for Oman, not only in terms of tourism but also due to shared values between the two countries. We take pride in India maintaining its position as the second-highest contributor of tourist arrivals to Oman and eagerly anticipate the country reaching new heights in terms of visitor numbers.”

When comparing the data from the past decade, the arrivals to Oman this year have set new records. The growth of tourists from India in April this year as compared to the same month last year, stands at a remarkable 126%, signifying the growing popularity and allure of Oman as a tourist destination for Indian visitors. Last year, we had 3,52,398 Indians visit Oman. We anticipate even more numbers this year as we have already recorded 2,34,509 Indian visitors till May this year, this stands at a remarkable 114% growth, as compared to the same period last year. We are confident to welcome over half a million Indian visitors into Oman this year.

Attendees were also treated to the enchanting tale of the land of Frankincense, offering a glimpse into the country’s rich history. The presentation further highlighted the breathtaking beauty of the Khareef (monsoon) season in Dhofar, where the entire city turns lush green, creating a mesmerizing sight.

Among the many attractions, Muscat’s oldest Muttrah fort, dating back to the 16th century, stood as a testament to Oman’s deep-rooted heritage. Moreover, the country boasts five UNESCO World Heritage sites, each holding invaluable cultural and historical significance. Another incredible natural wonder that Oman takes pride in is the annual migration of Green Turtles to its pristine beaches, making for a truly unforgettable experience for tourists.

The evening would not have been complete without the mention of adventure in Oman. The country fits well into an adventure enthusiast list, be it paragliding, kite surfing, mountain biking, hiking, caving and much more. For the adrenalin-buzzed tourist, there is an exploration of the largest cave chambers in the world, Majlis Al Jinn, to snorkelling the colourful coral reefs of Daymaniyat Islands or camping under the stars in the A’Sharqiyah Sands. There are plenty of new tourist investments which have been greenlighted such as ecological resort at GHUBB ALI /Khasab and adventure resort at Al-Hamra.
