Europamundo Vacaciones celebrates its 26th Annual Convention

Over 250 professionals from the tourism sector representing 46 different countries gathered in Portugal from October 27th to November 3rd.

Once again, the tour operator Europamundo Vacations is hosting its traditional annual convention, bringing together over 250 professionals from the tourism sector representing 46 different countries this time. This 26th edition took place in Portugal, thanks to the collaboration of three of the best Portuguese tourism hosts: Visit Portugal, Visit Alentejo, and Visit Centre of Portugal.

Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city, hosted the start of the working sessions with a welcome cocktail that began with words from the CEO of the JTB Group, Shinji Kamio, who announced the company’s significant advancements and achievements.

Under the theme “Towards New Horizons,” the convention continued with various presentations on Europamundo’s sales results, new routes, and technological innovations they are incorporating for clients and collaborators, among other topics.

There was also time for networking and mutual learning through discussion groups, workshops, and contributions from companies such as Juniper, Politours, or Make My Trip.

Additionally, a Post Tour was organized, allowing participants to visit unique cultural sites such as Oporto and Lisbon, as well as lesser-known locations like Tomar, Braga, Nazaré, Coimbra, among others, always aiming for sustainable tourism by promoting less crowded places. The 26th Convention of Europamundo Vacaciones included a traditional Alentejo dinner, courtesy of Visit Alentejo, where participants enjoyed local gastronomy, concluding with the traditional gala dinner.

Following the successful attendance, Alejandro de la Osa, CEO of Europamundo, stated, “Hosting these kinds of events helps boost tourism and recognize the significant role of operators and agencies in a challenging season for the sector.”
