Cross Hotels & Resorts maps sustainability quotient

New Delhi: Cross Hotels & Resorts is bolstering its environmental awareness credentials with the recent signing of two new hotel management agreements (HMA) in Bangkok and Pattaya, as the hospitality sector begins to show signs of a resurgence in global travel. The joint venture with Evergreen Hospitality Co., Ltd. ushers in a long-term drive to reduce overall emissions.

Cross Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific’s premier creator of innovative hospitality solutions, is determined to lower its carbon footprint by employing ethical and responsible practises such as planting more trees and vigorously enforcing the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle). At the forefront of achieving maximum sustainability across its portfolio, leaders from both companies moved from the boardroom to the garden, where they planted trees to support the agreement’s dynamism.

Away Bangkok Sukhumvit, nestled in the Thai capital, is a 78-key boutique hotel close to leading business, entertainment, and shopping centres, as well as a short walk to Phrom Phong BTS station, making it an enviable position for both business and leisure tourists. Meanwhile, the contemporary 70-room Cross Vibe South Pattaya, located only minutes from Pattaya’s famed beach, offers visitors a variety of amenities such as spacious rooms with balconies and terraces, onsite parking, and easy access to the city’s renowned dining, entertainment, and retail zones.

“We are excited to enter this partnership with Evergreen Hospitality Co. Ltd., and I believe the joint commitment aligns our shared values of sustainability, responsibility, and eco-awareness. We continue to take proactive steps to reduce our impact on the planet by keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum, and this visionary signing is another major step towards realising our goal. In the same vein, these two properties are a clear fit for our brands Away and Cross Vibe as they align with our strategy of investing in the world-class destinations of Bangkok and Pattaya. While Away is based on the ethos of “Escape Everyday Life”, Cross Vibe invites guests to “Stay, Chill, and Enjoy,” whether it is at a beach or city location,” said Harry Thaliwal, CEO of Cross Hotels & Resorts.

Cross Hotels & Resorts’ relentless commitment to quality continues to act as a catalyst, ultimately driving hospitality to new heights. With a pent-up demand for international travel, the goal is to continue the expansion into Asia-Pacific’s plethora of desirable places. This announcement adds to Cross Hotels & Resorts’ eight new HMA signings in 2022, defying the cautious ‘wait and see’ industry growth trend.

“Our trust and confidence in Cross Hotels & Resorts is a result of its leading brands and the global distribution that is backed by Flight Centre Travel Group. The convergence of our views and values will create a new benchmark for service quality and overall excellence, while at the same time raising the profile of our properties as a destination,” said Sukhit Narula, Chairman of Evergreen Hospitality Co. Ltd.

Cross Hotels & Resorts currently operates over 26 hotels in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan under five distinct brands: Cross, Cross Vibe, Away, Lumen, and Cross Collection.
