The 10th edition of the Global Hospitality Conclave (GHC), held recently at The Oberoi, New Delhi, was both a celebration of enduring excellence and a heartfelt tribute to Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi, the visionary founder of The Oberoi Group. The milestone event commemorated The Oberoi Group’s 90-year journey in hospitality and marked a decade of GHC as a premier forum for knowledge-sharing, leadership dialogue, and industry insight.
Established by alumni of The Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development (OCLD), formerly the Oberoi School of Hotel Management, GHC has evolved into a dynamic platform that brings together hospitality leaders and professionals from various sectors. More than just a networking opportunity, the conclave has grown into a space to honour values rooted in exceptional service, integrity, and continuous learning—hallmarks of the Oberoi legacy.
In his address, Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman, The Oberoi Group, reflected on the enduring influence of Rai Bahadur MS Oberoi: “We are privileged to honour 90 years of excellence—an extraordinary journey that began with the vision and passion of our founder. Through his pioneering spirit and steadfast belief in people, he built a legacy that transformed Indian hospitality. The GHC is a fitting tribute to his legacy.”
Echoing similar sentiment, Vikram Oberoi, CEO, The Oberoi Group, added, “The 90-year milestone is a moment of gratitude—to our founder and everyone who has upheld his vision. GHC allows us to reaffirm our commitment to excellence and innovation.”
Underscoring the deeper meaning of the conclave, Sudhir Gupta, GHC Chair & Executive Chairman, TLC Digitech, said, “For Oberoi alumni, GHC is not just a celebration, but a reaffirmation of the values instilled by Rai Bahadur MS Oberoi.”
The centrepiece of the event was the Rai Bahadur MS Oberoi Memorial Lecture, delivered by Dr. Ashwani Kumar, former Minister of Law and Justice, who offered rare insights into the founder’s values and his transformational impact on Indian hospitality.
As GHC completed a decade, it celebrated more than professional milestones—it honoured a legacy that continues to inspire future generations in hospitality and beyond.
