At FITUR Woman, organised by WLT – Women Leading Tourism, Gloria Guevara, President & CEO, WTTC, highlighted the pivotal role of women in shaping the future of global tourism. Women represent 40% of total employment in Travel & Tourism, and 52% in hospitality, reinforcing the social and economic impact of empowering women in decision-making roles, she said.
WTTC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that advance gender equality. Guevara said the sector is living a historic moment for gender leadership across global tourism institutions and stressed the importance of capitalising on this momentum.
With over 17 years of experience in the B2B travel and hospitality sector, she brings deep insight into travel trade dynamics, industry challenges and market developments. She holds an MA in English Literature and a Diploma in Journalism from the Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai, which underpin her strong editorial expertise. An avid nature enthusiast, she prefers outdoor and adventure-led travel, including hiking and trekking.
