After flagging off India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train from Malda in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the new train will make long-distance journeys more comfortable while also supporting business activities. “These projects will make travel easier, simplify trade and business,” he said. The first sleeper train will connect Howrah with Guwahati (Kamakhya), strengthening connectivity across Bengal and the Northeast.
