Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on February 26 in New Delhi said that tourism is now central to national development. He said the government aims to lift tourism’s GDP share from about 6% to 10%, signalling stronger policy support, infrastructure spending and private investment opportunities for travel businesses nationwide.
