Telangana forms panel to develop medical tourism in government hospitals

Telangana has constituted a three-member committee to examine and promote international medical tourism in government hospitals under the State Tourism Policy 2025–2030. The panel will assess service feasibility, recommend treatment packages, and propose strategies to attract overseas patients through improved healthcare and support services.

The committee, constituted by the state government, has been asked to submit its recommendations within one month. It will study the feasibility of establishing international medical tourism services in government healthcare institutions, identify medical and diagnostic procedures suitable for overseas patients, and recommend pricing mechanisms. The panel will also explore support services such as language assistance, dietary arrangements, and attendant services, while proposing marketing initiatives in coordination with the Telangana Medical and Wellness Tourism Promotion Board.
