Southern Globe Hotels and Resorts officially commenced construction of its upcoming Courtyard by Marriott hotel project with a grand Bhumi Pooja ceremony held on 8th May 2026, marking a significant milestone in Amaravati’s growing hospitality landscape.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries:
- T. G. Bharath – Minister for Industries & Commerce
- Kandula Durgesh – Minister for Tourism, Culture & Cinematography
Along with many other dignitaries, their presence highlighted the project’s importance in accelerating tourism, infrastructure development, and economic growth in Andhra Pradesh’s capital region.
The project is being spearheaded by Mr. Krishna Mohan Alapati, Managing Director of Southern Travels Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Mr. Ved Khurana, Chairman of Globe Civil Projects Ltd., and Mr. Vikram Karunakaram, Managing Director of DeltaPure Water India.
The upcoming Courtyard by Marriott is designed to cater to the evolving needs of business and leisure travellers, offering contemporary amenities, global service standards, and a refined guest experience aligned with Marriott’s renowned brand legacy.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Krishna Mohan Alapati, the Managing Director of Southern Travels, said:

Developed under the globally renowned Marriott International brand, the hotel is envisioned as a world-class hospitality destination in the capital region of Amaravati. The project will boost the local economy by attracting tourists, business travellers, and event visitors, creating growth across transport, retail, shopping, entertainment, and allied sectors.
The project is expected to generate around 600 direct and indirect jobs, with nearly 70% of opportunities prioritized for residents and supported by hospitality skill development initiatives. Preference will also be given to sourcing agricultural produce from local farmers, artisans, and small businesses, thereby supporting the regional economy.
