Shekhawat attends Moatsu Fest in Nagaland, says tourism inspired by local tradition can uplift communities

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, addressing the Moatsu Festival in Nagaland, said tourism rooted in tradition can transform communities. He emphasised that cultural preservation, community participation, and sustainable practices are central to developing globally competitive tourism destinations, particularly across Northeast India.

Highlighting Nagaland’s cultural richness, he noted that initiatives like the Hornbill Festival have positioned the state on the global tourism map. He added that the government is committed to promoting inclusive, community-driven tourism, with the Northeast region playing a central role in India’s destination development strategy.
