India’s medical tourism market is projected to grow from $8.7 bn in 2025 to $16.2 bn by 2030, driven by cost competitiveness, skilled care, and rising global demand. Government initiatives, including medical visas and AYUSH integration, are expected to strengthen India’s position as a global healthcare destination.

India recorded 9.15 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2025, with over 5.07 lakh visiting for medical treatment. Bangladesh remained the largest source market, followed by Iraq, Oman, and Kenya. Expansion of infrastructure, accreditation systems, and regional medical hubs is expected to support sustained growth in the sector.
