Radisson Blu Ahmedabad aligns MICE strategy with city’s next growth phase

As Ahmedabad strengthens its position as a business, education and sports-led destination, hotels are recalibrating their offerings to match evolving corporate and MICE demand. With infrastructure momentum, sustainability priorities and event-driven travel shaping the next cycle, Radisson Blu Ahmedabad is positioning itself to capture value-driven, mid-scale business growth in 2026.

In this conversation, Saurabh Bhatnagar, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Ahmedabad, outlines how the property is preparing for rising MICE demand, service enhancements and a stronger domestic and international business mix.

How is Radisson Blu Ahmedabad preparing to capture the growing MICE and corporate travel demand in 2026?

Saurabh Bhatnagar: The hotel is well positioned to serve mid-scale corporate and MICE requirements with multiple event spaces that can accommodate up to 250 guests. These include a dedicated boardroom suited for breakout sessions and corporate meetings, particularly given our proximity to educational institutions. All meeting areas are supported by high-quality audiovisual systems and complimentary Wi-Fi to ensure seamless conferences and presentations.

From a sustainability standpoint, Radisson Blu Ahmedabad is Hotel Sustainability Basics verified, which is increasingly relevant for eco-conscious corporate groups. Facilities such as EV charging stations, wellness and fitness centres, and sustainable dining options enhance overall guest value. We are also aligned with Radisson’s broader India expansion and digital booking enhancements, which support our readiness for rising MICE demand in 2026.

What upgrades or service innovations are planned to enhance guest experience next year?

Saurabh Bhatnagar: In 2026, we plan to introduce immersive digital experiences through an AI-driven virtual tour of the hotel and event facilities. This will allow planners and guests to preview spaces and amenities interactively before confirming bookings.

In addition, the hotel is scheduled to renovate the spa, the all-day dining outlet and the façade, including the main porch. These upgrades are aimed at improving both functional and aesthetic aspects of the guest journey.

What will be your key focus areas for strengthening domestic and international business in 2026?

Saurabh Bhatnagar: On the domestic front, we will leverage Ahmedabad’s growing stature as a business hub and the impact of upcoming infrastructure projects. Our focus will be on customised packages for mid-size conferences, trade exhibitions and academic forums, while also targeting feeder markets such as Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot with blended leisure and business offerings.

Internationally, strengthening global distribution through GDS and OTAs will be key, particularly for corporate travellers from Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. We will also leverage Radisson Rewards and loyalty programmes to drive repeat business, while highlighting our sustainability certification to attract socially responsible corporates.

Anything else you would like to add?

Saurabh Bhatnagar: Sports-led demand is emerging as a significant driver for Ahmedabad. During IPL 2025, hotel occupancies exceeded 85%, with match-day rates rising by 7–10% and search volumes increasing sharply ahead of major games. With upcoming global sporting events and new infrastructure, hotels will need to focus on dynamic pricing, event-led packaging and early market activation to capitalise on this growth.

Moving forward

With a balanced focus on MICE readiness, sustainability credentials and event-driven demand, Radisson Blu Ahmedabad is aligning its strategy with the city’s expanding business and sports tourism landscape as it looks ahead to 2026.
