Sustainability is increasingly shaping conversations across India’s MICE and wedding sectors as hotels, planners, and event organisers adapt to changing corporate expectations and environmentally conscious consumer behaviour. Radisson Bengaluru City Center has now hosted the fifth edition of GReaT Conversations in collaboration with the Karnataka Event Management Association (KEMA).

Radisson Bengaluru City Center hosted the round table discussion on 22 May 2026, bringing together stakeholders from the events, weddings, airline, media, and hospitality sectors to discuss the future of sustainable meetings and experiential hospitality.

The session focused on the theme of Green Meetings, exploring how sustainability is influencing the evolution of MICE events, corporate gatherings, and social celebrations across India.

Bengaluru strengthens MICE positioning

The event also highlighted Bengaluru’s growing importance as a key source market for corporate events, destination weddings, and lifestyle-led hospitality experiences in South India.

Industry participants discussed the need for closer collaboration between hotels, planners, and event stakeholders to design gatherings that balance guest experience with operational sustainability.

The discussion was moderated by Jit Bose, Vice President – Commercial, and attended by Puneet Dutta, COO, GRT Hotels & Resorts, and Anu Shinoj from GRT Hotels & Resorts.

Representatives from Karnataka Event Management Association included Tony Stephen, President, KEMA, and Srikant Kanoi, Executive Vice President, alongside members of the association’s executive committee.

Sustainable event practices gain traction

The event itself was designed as a sustainability-led hospitality experience, showcasing GRT Hotels & Resorts’ GReaT Green Meetings initiatives through environmentally conscious event setups, locally sourced cuisine, and responsible operational practices.

The networking dinner was hosted at the hotel’s terrace venue overlooking Ulsoor Lake, further positioning the property as a venue for open-air corporate and social gatherings.

Vikram Cotah, CEO, GRT Hotels & Resorts, said, “As the MICE and wedding segments continue to grow, it is important for hotels and event partners to create experiences that are not only memorable, but also mindful of the environment and the communities we serve.”

Discussions during the session covered evolving MICE trends, sustainability integration, experiential hospitality, responsible event management, and changing wedding expectations across the Indian market.

The initiative reflects the hospitality industry’s wider push towards environmentally responsible operations as sustainability increasingly becomes central to venue selection, event planning, and corporate travel decisions.
