As India’s inbound tourism regains momentum after the pandemic disruption, industry platforms are sharpening focus on sustaining recovery while preparing for the next phase of expansion.
Welcoming delegates to the fourth edition of the PATA India Tourism PowerHouse, Vikram Madhok, Vice Chairman, PATA India, said inbound tourism had largely returned to pre-pandemic levels. He pointed to a strong recovery from key source markets, including the US, the UK, Australia, and Asia-Pacific.
Madhok noted that India recorded over 20 million international arrivals in 2024, generating approximately US$ 35 bn in foreign exchange earnings and supporting nearly 84 million jobs. He emphasised that continued aviation expansion, alongside the development of new airports, would be critical to sustaining long-term growth in inbound tourism.
