A 250‑km Pashupatinath‑Baidyanath Dham expressway is being planned to link Nepal and India’s sacred sites. Announced by Bihar’s road minister, the high‑speed corridor will begin in Kathmandu, cross into Bihar at Bhimnagar/Birpur and traverse Supaul, Saharsa, Khagaria, Munger and Banka before ending at Deoghar’s Baidyanath Dham. A separate service road will allow Kanwariya pilgrims to walk barefoot safely during the Shravan pilgrimage.

By reducing travel time for devotees and improving connectivity for buses and cars, the expressway is expected to boost religious tourism, regional trade and investment in eastern India.
