Morocco is strengthening its focus on India as a high-value source market through targeted MICE promotions and trade engagement. A three-city roadshow across South India highlights the destination’s readiness to host large-scale incentives, weddings, and experiential travel amid rising outbound demand.

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) concluded a three-city MICE roadshow across Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru from Sunday, 23 March to Tuesday, 25 March 2026. The initiative brought together over 80 travel trade professionals and Moroccan stakeholders to promote Morocco as a MICE and experiential destination.

The roadshow follows strong growth in Indian arrivals, with Morocco recording a 31% increase in 2025 and a 224% rise compared to 2019. The destination welcomed 53,697 Indian travellers last year and is now targeting approximately 70,000 arrivals in 2026.

Focus on high-capacity MICE infrastructure

Morocco showcased its capability to host large-scale incentives and events through its infrastructure across cities such as Marrakech, Casablanca, and Rabat. The destination offers around 300,000 hotel beds and high-capacity venues, including Palais des Congrès and Espace Bab Jdid, which can accommodate up to 30,000 delegates.

The country has also demonstrated its ability to host global events such as the COP22 climate conference and the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings, reinforcing its positioning for large international gatherings.

Catering to Indian traveller preferences

To cater to Indian travellers, Morocco has enhanced visa processes through the Access Maroc e-visa platform, offering a turnaround of three to seven days. On-ground services include English and Hindi-speaking chauffeurs, along with Indian culinary offerings through dedicated chefs and fine dining options.

The destination is also witnessing growth in the wedding segment, with increasing interest in multi-day celebrations at palaces and resorts. Additionally, locations such as Ouarzazate are being promoted for film tourism and large-scale events.

Jamal Kilito, Country Manager India, Moroccan National Tourism Office, said, “India is rapidly evolving into a high-intent, high-value market for Morocco. Our approach today goes beyond awareness, as we are focused on conversion, deeper partnerships, and building long-term preference.”

Driving long-term market growth

Morocco’s strategy focuses on strengthening trade partnerships, expanding luxury offerings, and promoting experiential travel to attract Indian MICE groups and high-spending travellers.

With continued investments in infrastructure ahead of major global events such as the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2030, Morocco aims to further enhance its appeal as a destination for conferences, incentives, and destination weddings.

The roadshow reflects Morocco’s broader effort to position itself as a preferred destination for Indian planners seeking large-scale, experience-driven travel solutions.
