Madhya Pradesh Tourism has showcased a series of initiatives spanning adventure tourism, global promotions, sustainability, and wildlife conservation. The developments underline the state’s strategy to position itself as a diverse destination for heritage, nature, and experiential travel across domestic and international markets.
Madhya Pradesh continues to strengthen its tourism positioning through multiple initiatives, including hosting industry events, promoting women-led travel, and expanding its presence in global markets.
Bhopal is set to host a national seminar on adventure tourism organised by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India. The programme will bring together industry stakeholders to discuss safety standards, sustainability, and emerging opportunities in adventure travel, reinforcing the state’s focus on nature-based tourism.
Women-led expedition promotes heritage circuits
The third edition of the “Queens on the Wheels” women’s biking expedition was flagged off from Bhopal, covering a 1,400-kilometre route across key heritage and wildlife destinations. The initiative includes stops at Sanchi Stupa, Udayagiri Caves, Khajuraho Group of Monuments, Kuno National Park, and Gwalior Fort.
Flagged off by Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh, the expedition aims to promote women’s empowerment while showcasing the state as a safe destination for adventure and cultural travel.
Global outreach and sustainability recognition
Madhya Pradesh Tourism also participated in ITB Berlin 2026, engaging with international buyers and promoting its tourism offerings. The state highlighted attractions such as Khajuraho Group of Monuments, Sanchi Stupa, and Bandhavgarh National Park to strengthen its global visibility.
In a sustainability milestone, Pachmarhi received the Green Destinations Bronze Certification following an evaluation of environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community engagement practices. The recognition positions Pachmarhi as a model for responsible tourism in India.
Cultural and wildlife milestones
The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum hosted a solo exhibition by artist Lalita Tahed, showcasing Bhil art and cultural traditions. The exhibition highlighted indigenous storytelling and reinforced the role of museums in preserving tribal heritage.
Kuno National Park recorded the birth of five cheetah cubs, increasing the total population to 53. The development marks a key milestone in India’s cheetah reintroduction programme and enhances the park’s positioning as a wildlife tourism destination.
