LOT Polish Airlines announces a new seasonal route from Warsaw to Heraklion, Crete, beginning 30 May 2026, operating three times a week on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from Warsaw Chopin Airport. The move aligns with increasing demand for Mediterranean island travel and gives travel advisors expanded flexibility in designing Europe summer programmes.

The route broadens access to one of Greece’s most-visited islands and strengthens LOT’s competitive positioning in the Southern Europe market.

A schedule tuned for summer flows

On Mondays and Saturdays, flight LO 619 departs Warsaw at 11:45h and arrives in Heraklion at 15:40h. On Fridays, the flight departs at 10:20h and lands at 14:15h local time.

The service will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with two cabin classes. The flight time is just under three hours, and the service is available for booking through all channels.

Crete attracts more than six million visitors annually and offers a combination of beaches, mountain scenery, traditional villages and major archaeological sites, including the Palace of Knossos. Known as the “Island of the Gods”, the destination carries strong mythology-based appeal, from the story of Zeus to the legends of the Minotaur and Icarus.

Heraklion becomes the airline’s third destination in Greece, complementing flights to Athens and Thessaloniki.

Network growth shaped by targeted strategy

“We are pursuing a sustainable growth strategy and are expanding our route network in a targeted manner. Heraklion/Crete is thus not only a new and attractive travel option for our guests from India. It is also the latest in a series of new air services we have announced in recent weeks: In 2026, we will also add routes to Almaty, Bologna, Malaga, Porto and San Francisco,” said Amit Ray, Director India, DACH Markets, Italy and Malta and Head of Global Corporate and Strategic Sales, LOT Polish Airlines.

LOT continues to strengthen its India connectivity with daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai on designated days of the week.

What the new route unlocks for the trade

The new Heraklion service offers stronger programme design options for Indian travel planners, enabling island-hopping combinations, multi-city Greece itineraries and enhanced capacity for beach-led, culture-driven and honeymoon travel for summer 2026.
