The Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express recorded over 16,300 passengers in its first four days of operations, according to Northern Railway officials. Launched on 2 May, the semi-high-speed service reported average occupancy of around 82%, reflecting strong demand from commuters, tourists, and pilgrims travelling across Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said occupancy rose to 96% on 5 May, when around 2,744 passengers travelled onboard a single operational pair of trains. Udhit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, said the service reflects Indian Railways’ ongoing modernisation efforts and is witnessing increasing acceptance among passengers seeking faster and premium rail connectivity in the region.
