IndiGo will start non-stop, thrice-weekly flights between Chennai and Réunion Island from April 29, 2026, expanding its international network in the Indian Ocean region. The airline will operate the route with Airbus A320 aircraft. Réunion will become IndiGo’s 46th international destination and its 13th from Chennai.

The French overseas territory, located between Madagascar and Mauritius, is being positioned as an emerging destination for Indian outbound travelers. IndiGo said the route is expected to cater to leisure, honeymoon, adventure, and MICE demand, while also serving the Indian diaspora on the island.

Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, said the new service would improve direct access to a destination known for its natural landscapes and multicultural heritage. Bookings have opened on IndiGo’s website, mobile app, and through authorized travel partners.
