Bengaluru’s hospitality growth is no longer confined to its traditional business districts. As infrastructure pushes outward and new economic clusters take shape, hotel development is increasingly following the city’s northern expansion — a shift that reflects how demand is evolving alongside urban form.
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Gateway hotel in Hennur, Bengaluru, marking a greenfield addition to its portfolio in the city. The signing reinforces IHCL’s focus on emerging micro-markets within India’s leading commercial hubs.
The 350-key Gateway Hennur, Bengaluru, is being developed in North Bengaluru, a corridor that has seen accelerated growth driven by infrastructure upgrades and sectors such as technology, aerospace, and education. The location offers proximity to key IT hubs and the airport, while maintaining connectivity to the city centre.
A full-service offering for a growing corridor
Designed as a full-service hotel, Gateway Hennur will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a specialty restaurant, and a lounge. The property will also cater to the city’s meetings and events demand with over 16,000 sq ft of banqueting space, supported by modern meeting rooms.
Wellness and recreation will form an integral part of the hotel’s positioning, with plans for a gym, health club, swimming pool, and dedicated treatment rooms for rejuvenation therapies.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “Bengaluru’s growth story continues to evolve with suburbs and satellite cities emerging as vibrant development hubs. North Bengaluru, in particular, has transformed into one of Karnataka’s fastest-growing corridors, propelled by infrastructure upgrades and sectors such as technology, aerospace and education. Capturing the growing need for quality hospitality, Gateway Hennur will offer a contemporary experience that complements the city’s expansion. We are delighted to extend our partnership with Sanjay Suresh with this project.”
Strengthening an existing partnership
The project is being developed by Billore Ventures Pvt Ltd, led by Sanjay Suresh, Managing Director.
Sanjay Suresh said, “We are happy to continue our longstanding partnership with IHCL and add a Gateway to our offerings.”
With this signing, IHCL will have 20 hotels in Bengaluru, including 11 under development, underscoring the city’s continued importance within the group’s domestic growth strategy.
