The European Union’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) will begin operations from 12 October at external Schengen borders of 29 European countries, gradually replacing manual passport stamping with biometric data collection for non-EU citizens. This modernisation aims to enhance security, prevent overstays, and streamline border checks. The system will become fully operational by 10 April, 2026.
