Cruise lines are increasingly sharpening their onboard entertainment to drive family travel, and Disney Cruise Line is raising the bar with a new Lion King-themed fireworks spectacular — a move set to add fresh appeal for Asia-bound sailings and travel sellers targeting experience-led holidays.
Disney Cruise Line has announced an all-new original fireworks show, The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky, debuting on the Disney Adventure, with Shah Rukh Khan lending his voice as narrator. The production will headline entertainment onboard Disney Cruise Line’s first ship to homeport in Asia, sailing from Singapore.
The fireworks spectacular will transform the night skies above the Disney Adventure, combining pyrotechnics, dramatic lighting, and iconic music from Disney’s The Lion King. Guests will also be taken on a musical journey featuring songs including Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, He Lives in You, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight?, with original arrangements recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and harmonies by South Africa’s Ndlovu Youth Choir.

Shah Rukh Khan, who previously voiced Mufasa in the Hindi-language versions of The Lion King (2019) and Mufasa (2024), added, “The Lion King will always hold a special place in my heart, and its timeless messages of bravery and hope continue to resonate across generations. The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky will be featured on select evenings at sea during both three-night and four-night voyages, with schedules available via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app onboard.
The Disney Adventure will operate from Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore as part of a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board. Sailings are designed as three- and four-night voyages with days at sea, offering onboard entertainment, dining, and retail experiences.
