Indian hospitality groups are increasingly strengthening leadership teams ahead of new resort openings as demand grows for experience-led leisure, wellness, and destination hospitality. Atmosphere Core has now appointed Vanita Gomez as General Manager of STILLWOOD RETREAT, a Signature Atmosphere Coorg, ahead of the property’s launch.

Atmosphere Core announced the appointment of Vanita Gomez on 26 May 2026 as the company prepares to launch its second property in India under the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts brand.

Gomez brings more than 18 years of hospitality experience spanning operations, sales, revenue management, MICE, weddings, and destination resort leadership across premium hospitality brands and hotels in India.

Focus on experiential and destination-led hospitality

Located approximately 275 kilometres from Bengaluru and 150 kilometres from Mysuru Airport, STILLWOOD RETREAT a Signature Atmosphere Coorg will feature 56 villas with private decks and outdoor hot tubs alongside wellness, dining, and event facilities.

The property is also expected to target destination weddings, corporate retreats, and experiential leisure travel — segments witnessing strong growth across India’s upscale hospitality sector.

Vanita Gomez said, “Stillwood Retreat is envisioned as a sanctuary where guests can truly disconnect from the pace of everyday life and reconnect with nature, culture, and themselves.”

She added, “I am honoured to lead the team for this property, positioning it as a distinctive getaway experience rooted in the rich essence of Kodava culture, while staying true to the ‘Joy of Giving’ philosophy that defines Atmosphere Core.”

Atmosphere Core expands India presence

Christopher Baker, Vice President Operations – Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, said Gomez’s operational and commercial expertise made her a strong fit for the upcoming retreat.

He said, “Vanita’s extensive operational expertise, commercial understanding, and success in MICE segment, make her an excellent fit for this role.”

The Coorg retreat forms part of Atmosphere Core’s broader India expansion pipeline, which includes hospitality projects across Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandragiri, Goa, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Kannur, Kolkata, Kufri, Kurseong, and Shirdi.

Atmosphere Core currently operates nine resorts in the Maldives and one heritage hotel in India while continuing expansion across South Asia and Europe.

The group has increasingly focused on immersive, wellness-led, and culturally rooted hospitality experiences as destination travel and experiential tourism continue shaping luxury hospitality demand in the region.
