Andhra Pradesh Forest Department will introduce eco-friendly night stay facilities at Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary in Visakhapatnam under the Nagar Van Yojana. The project includes trekking routes, nature-based activities, and limited-capacity accommodation, positioning the site as an urban eco-tourism offering within close proximity to the city.
Developed at a cost of INR2 crore, the sanctuary currently attracts over 200 visitors daily, rising to 500 on weekends. The initiative integrates local tribal communities into operations, while planned additions include bird-watching towers, rope activities, boating, and eco-trails, with accommodation designed to minimise environmental impact.
