VFS Global has issued a statement that visa applicants for Japan in the West jurisdiction will not require any appointment and will be accepted as walk-in submissions effective 1 June 2026. This includes Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, and Pune. However, Japan VACs in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar will implement an Appointment Management System from 8 June, so applicants will be required to book an appointment before submitting their applications.
